I dunno about how well the experience translates, but I firmly believe that playing Quake back in college is what made me a crack shot with a real shotgun in real life. First time I ever went clay shooting, I pulled off some ridiculous shots, without even aiming. The point and click instinct just kicked in.
That was back in the 1980s. In recent years, I've acquired a newfound interest in liminality, having stumbled upon my fair share of strange occurrences during travels. Law enforcement has also begun actively hunting down crack dens, pressuring its frequenters to leave - which reminded me of the rumors. They just returned to me one day as I passed by the house.
